Agnes Elizabeth Bohls Formerly of Castlewood, SD Agnes E. Bohls was born on January 16, 1912 in Codington County, South Dakota the daughter of John S. and Amelia (Tiber) Ries. She died on Wednesday at the Brookview Manor in Brookings at the age of 91 years. Agnes spent her early years and received her education in a rural school in Codington County, Dist. #11. She was united in marriage to Edward J. Bohls on September 19, 1933 in Kransburg, SD. After their marriage they farmed in Hamlin County until their retirement in 1976 when they moved to Castlewood, SD. Edward died on January 26, 1980 in Watertown, SD. She has been a resident of the Greenleaf Assisted Living and Brookview Manor in Brookings for the past five years. She was a member of the St. Johns Catholic Church in Castlewood and the Alter Society. She enjoyed playing cards, fishing, sewing, crafts and especially enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Agnes is survived by one daughter Patricia Pat Thue (Merle) of Brookings, SD; four sons Gerald Bohls (Mary Jo), Kenneth Bohls (Mary) all of Badger, SD, Dennis Bohls (Debbie) of Rapid City, SD, Larry Bohls (Jeanette) of Castlewood, SD; 16 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; one great- great grandson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one great grand daughter, five brothers, two sisters, two half-brothers and one half-sister.
