Alfred Gene Wilson, Jr. 68, of Hayti, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016 at his home in Hayti. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Evangelical Covenant Church in Lake Norden with a prayer service held at 7:00 pm. Geise Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Alfred Gene Wilson Jr. was born on May 16, 1947, in Aberdeen, SD, the son of Alfred and Deloris (Kurtz) Wilson. He was raised on the family farm near Mina Lake and attended country school in the Mina area. He worked for a newspaper company before going to work for Scherle Sales, constructing grain bins. He was united in marriage to Judy Medinger on January 15, 1971, in Aberdeen.  In 1981, the couple moved to Lake Poinsett, where he ran a service garage. In 1984 they made their home in Hayti, SD, and Alfred went to work for Tri State Welding Supply where he drove truck before going to work for Linweld as a salesman, where he worked until he retired in 2009. In his retirement, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and helping on a farm near Hayti.

Alfred enjoyed doing carpentry work and in his earlier years, was very involved in stock car racing. More than anything, he cherished his time with his family, spending as much time for them as he could.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Wilson, of Hayti, SD; two daughters, Bonnie (special friend, Wayne Glaser) Hejum, of Aberdeen, SD and Pam Wilson, of Hayti, SD; four grandchildren, Dillion Kittelson, Alan Blais, Kaylee and Mitchell Hejum; one great granddaughter, Raelyne Kittelson and five sisters, Judy (Bob) Johnson, Janice Siemucha, Joan (Terry) Lilla, Joyce (Jeff) Medley and Julie (Rick) Laux.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law, Fred Siemucha.
