Barry Lee Lemme was born on July 21, 1948, in Watertown, SD, the son of Clifford and Kathryn (Finley) Lemme. He grew up and attended school at Bryant, SD. Barry's passion for others started at a young age for he was the originator of the first Boy Scout Troop in Bryant SD, which taught many young kids ethics, self-confidence, leadership and citizenship skills. Barry was the kid who was classified as the class clown, always had a smile on his face and always trying to put a smile on everyone else. He graduatedfrom Bryant High School in 1966.
Barry married Dawn Nelson, his high school sweetheart of Bryant on August 31, 1966 at the Bryant Lutheran Church. While their marriage didn't last forever as they'd hope, they were blessed with three children, Jody, Heather and Toby and divorced in 1975. On September 13, 1975 he married Dorene (KasteinPaso) of Lake Norden by the shores of Lake Kampeska. Barry and Dorene continued their life together in Lake Norden for the next 46 years.
Barry was a salesman most of his life. He loved sales & meeting so many different people. He was charismatic, quick-witted, passionate and above all, always helpful to all his customers. He was highly regarded by his customers and fellow employees. His sales positions sent him to many different states and numerous conventions and his wife Dorene enjoyed many of those trips with him. Barry was an avid sportsman and loved hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, water-skiing & golf. He spent many happy hours on Lake Norden teaching so many youngsters to water-ski. Camping with his family & friends around all the lakes in Eastern South Dakota & sitting around the campfires brought him many hours of joy. In his later years Barry enjoyed his drives around the local lakes with Dorene and their dogs. Barry's Irish ability for telling stories was well known by all his many friends.
Barry is survived by his wife Dorene, his ex-wife Dawn and their children Jody (Jan) Lemme, Lake Poinsett; Heather (Sean) Evans, Las Vegas; Toby (Linda) Lemme, Volga.
