Interment St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery Sioux Falls, South Dakota Betty Ann (Rahn) Jasper, daughter of Ferdinand Theodore and Eliza Jane (Edwards) Rahn, was born January 12, 1935 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She grew up and received her education in Sioux Falls, graduating from Washington High School. Betty spent a short time as a WAVE with the U.S. Navy before her marriage to Donald Paul Jasper at Little Flower Catholic Church in Sioux Falls on June 25, 1955. Following their marriage they lived in Sioux Falls where they raised their family. When Donald retired in 1991 they moved to Lake Poinsett, South Dakota. She died on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at the Doughtery Hospice House in Sioux Falls at the age of 76 years, 4 months and 26 days. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Estelline. Betty enjoyed reading, bingo and doing embroidery on pillow cases. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband Donald of Lake Poinsett; three daughters, Cindy Shea and her husband Larry of Colman, SD, Carol Jasper of Yorkville, IL, Mary Ward and her husband Doug of Brookings; four grandchildren, Dylan Goering of Yorkville, IL, Josh Ward, Kali Ward and Nick Ward, all of Brookings; and a host of other relatives and friends. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Rick James Jasper and Mark Donald Jasper; three sisters and three brothers. The family requests memorials be directed to Dougherty Hospice House, 4509 Prince of Peace Place, Sioux Falls, SD 57103.
