Obituary

Beverlee Ann Wittmeier was born on April 10, 1935 to Lincoln and Sadie (Buller) Wittmeier at rural Avon, South Dakota and passed away July 24, 2019 at the Estelline Nursing and Care Center in Estelline, SD having reached the age of 84 years.

Beverlee was the 2 nd in the family of three children.  She was baptized on April 21, 1935 by Rev. Fred Schneck Presbyterian Minister at Avon.

Beverlee lived with her parents at rural Avon until 1940 and then lived in the Hartford Lennox areas until 1948 when they moved to Marion where she lived until 2012 and then moved to an apartment in Brookings until she entered the Estelline Nursing and Care Center in fall of 2013.  As a young girl she became quite ill from meningitis which resulted in some of her disabilities, which resulted in her living at home with her parents until 1998 when her mother passed away and Bev then lived independent on her own in an apartment at Marion and later at Brookings.

Beverlee's parents always subscribed to the Marion Record and Sioux Falls Argus Leader and Beverlee read the papers faithfully every day, cover to cover, and often informed her parents of things they missed in the paper. Beverlee loved country western music and had hundreds of records and played her records daily.  Beverlee needed tons of paper to scribble on, as she composed her own songs, however no one was ever able to read her writings.  Beverlee had a great memory of everyone's birthdays and of her aunts and uncles she could name off their children and where they lived.  Beverlee was very fond of her two nephews, and also her great nephews and niece, and great-great nephews and niece.

She leaves to mourn her departure her brother Larry and wife Julaine of Bruce, SD. Nephew Troy and wife Spring Wittmeier and great nephew Zachary Wittmeier all of Merriam, Kansas; Nephew Todd and wife Nancy Wittmeier of Watertown, SD.  Great nephew Dylan and wife Heidi Wittmeier of Aurora, SD; Great nephew Shane and wife Joanna Wittmeier of Watertown, SD. Great Niece Sara and her husband Charlie Carman and great-great nephews Calvin and Benjamin Carman and great-great niece Lydia Carman all of Rapid City, SD.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Ronald Dale who died in infancy.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the Estelline Nursing and Care Center for their first rate care for Beverlee these past years and especially during her final days. Memorials for Beverlee may be directed to the Estelline Nursing and Care Center, PO Box 130, Estelline, SD 57234.
