Bonnie (Sween) Johnson, daughter of Martin and Dorothy (Boom) Sween, was born October 12, 1950 in Brookings, South Dakota. She received her education in Estelline, South Dakota and graduated in 1968. On January 30, 1971, she married the love of her life and best friend, Duane L. Johnson, and to this union three children were born. Bonnie and Duane lived various places before settling in Cheyenne. She worked in medical facilities and was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed reading, her flower gardens, painting, spending precious time with family and friends, but most of all baking cookies and playing Barbie's with her precious granddaughter, Abi. Bonnie went to heaven peacefully surrounded by her family on December 28, 2011 after a brief illness at the age of 61 years. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband Duane of Cheyenne; one daughter Kim Johnson of O'Fallon, IL; two sons, Scott Johnson, Shann (Audra)Johnson all of Cheyenne; one granddaughter Abi; her parents Martin and Dorothy Sween of Estelline; siblings, Lana (Ron) Saathoff of Estelline, Dave (Karen) Sween of Brookings, Jody Erschens (Randy Backus) of Tea, SD, Lisa (Dave) Carson of Langford, SD; and a host of other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arthritis National Research Foundation, the Alzheimer's Research Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
