Brodie D. Pekkala, 18, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church near Lake Norden. Visitation will be from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm Monday at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church. Geise Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Brodie Douglas Pekkala was born on July 6, 2004, the son of Darin and Jackie (Wendling) Pekkala. He attended school at Hamlin and Willow Lake and made many friends along the way. He touched many hearts of all ages. He was tender hearted and loved his family. He had an infectious grin and enjoyed many activities. His faith was important to him. Brodie was a baptized and confirmed member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church. He passed away at the age of 18 on September 3, 2022, in Battleground, WA as a result of a motorcycle accident.

Grateful for having shared his life are his parents, Darin and Jackie Pekkala; four brothers, Jimmy, Sawyer, Eli and Gunner; four sisters, Jayla, Emily, Dinah and Jocelyn all of Bryant, SD; his grandparents, Douglas and Debra Wendling, David and Seiri Pekkala and Diane and Mark Egholm; many aunts, uncles, cousins, along with a host of relatives and friends.
