Carol A. Niemann, 81, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Jenkins Living Center in Watertown, SD. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, August 16, 2024, at Geise Funeral Chapel in Castlewood, SD. A Visitation will be held the night prior from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Geise Funeral Chapel in Castlewood.

Carol was born May 6, 1943, in Elkton, SD, to Edward and Inga (Hillerud) Bolte. She graduated from Clear Lake High School. Carol played clarinet in the high school band as well as the accordion.

Carol married Lester Niemann on September 10, 1966. She worked as a waitress and bookkeeper prior to becoming a farm wife and stay at home mom. Carol was a member of Hamlin Reformed Church of rural Castlewood, SD. She selflessly and willingly prepared the church bulletin and kept the congregation informed. Carol loved her family and spending time with them and visiting with friends. She had a very strong faith in God and showed that in her everyday life. Everyone who knew Carol said she was always so kind and sweet. Carol will be deeply missed by her family, but they know she is in the arms of Jesus.

Carol is survived by her children, Tammy Steinmetz, Jeff Niemann, both of Watertown, Chad Niemann of Clear Lake, Michelle (Dave) Crocker of LaBolt and Lisa (Steve) Crocker of Castlewood; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Jean Froyd of Colorado Springs, CO, Doris Bolte of Sun City West, AZ and Linda (John) DeHaan of Lincoln, NE; 2 brothers, James (Veronica) Bolte of Ely, MN and Bruce Bolte of Luverne, MN.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lester Niemann, parents, Edward and Inga (Hillerud) Bolte and brother, Gary.
