Funeral Service 10:30 A.M., Saturday, December 31, 2011 Geise Funeral Home Estelline, South Dakota Visitation 4PM to 7PM Friday at Geise Funeral Home in Estelline. Charles L. Allen was born November 4, 1934 in Pennsylvania. He grew up there and moved to San Diego, California as a young man. He served in the U.S. Navy from September 2, 1954 to July 24, 1958. After his discharge he operated a wrecking business and worked in law enforcement in San Diego until moving to South Dakota in 1977. He was united in marriage to Darlene (Middleton) Keimig on August 18, 1979. He continued to work in law enforcement until 1992 when he and Darlene owned and operated the Imperial Steak House in Clark, South Dakota until 1996. They moved to Watertown where he worked for Angus Palm until his retirement in 2001. After his retirement he did small engine repair as a hobby and enjoyed fishing. Charles entered the Golden Living Center in Lake Norden on October 4, 2011 and died there on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at the age of 77 years. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Darlene of Watertown; three sons, Rick of Weed, CA, Danny and David of Julian, CA; nine grandchildren; five step-children, Ray (Kristin) Keimig of Athens, AL, Allan Keimig of Wildemar, CA, Julie Holderby (fiancé Joel Ulschmid) of Henry, SD, Jim (Amy) Keimig of Watertown, Jeff (Jennifer) Keimig of Henry, SD; five step-grandchildren, Aundrea, Matthew, Tyler, Brooke and R.J.; one sister Joanne in California; and two cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one sister, his mother-in-law Lola Schmidt and a son-in-law Marvin Holderby.
