Hansen, son of Alfred and Anna (Ramsey) Hansen, was born October 11, 1917 in Lake Norden Township, Hamlin County, South Dakota. He grew up and attended school in Lake Norden Township. He lived with his parents and farmed the family farm and was united in marriage to Shirley Searles on May 22, 1965 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. They continued to farm until retiring and moving into Lake Norden. Charles loved to raise cattle also drove truck for many years. He entered Beverly Healthcare in Lake Norden on December 31, 2005 and died there on Saturday, January 21, 2006 at the age of 88 years, 3 months and 10 days. He was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church and the Senior Citizens in Lake Norden. He enjoyed bowling, country music, horses and loved visiting with relatives and friends. Charles also called bingo at the nursing home in Lake Norden. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Shirley of Lake Norden; one son, Daniel Malloy and his wife Jan of Canton, CT; two daughters, Colleen Ohman and her husband Bill of Fairbanks, AK and Patty Bladek and her husband Mike of Midway, AR; four grandchildren, Charles and Ginger Ohman, Sean Malloy and Ty Bladek; two sisters, Lillian Bakken of Sioux Falls, Gladyce Swenson of Oregon; two brothers, Howard Hansen and his wife Ann of Hayti, SD, Milton Hansen of Oregon; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister Rena Olsen; and two brothers, Alvin and Clinton in infancy.
