Obituary

Chester Chet Davidson, 87, beloved father and grandfather, died June 20, 2007 at Brookview Manor, Brookings, SD. Funeral Services have been set for 11:00am Monday, June 25, 2007 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Sioux Falls, SD. Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 7:00pm Sunday, June 24, 2007 at Rudes Funeral Home, Brookings and one hour prior to services in Sioux Falls. Geise Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Chet Davidson was born on September 27, 1919 in Rolling Fork Township, MN. He attended school there and was a member of Rolling Fork Lutheran Church. He served in the United States Army for 4 1/2 years stationed in England, France and Germany in World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1946. He was united in marriage to his wife Donna Immerman on February 14, 1948 and they celebrated their 50th anniversary in 1998. He was a Chevrolet mechanic for many years and then owned Chets Hi-Way Pure Oil Station in Watertown, SD. In 1975, he and Donna moved to Yankton where they managed the Skyline Motel until 1985. They moved to Sioux Falls to manage the Georgetown on the River apartments until 1998. He worked at the Americinn Motel and Gateway apartment until retiring in 2001. He moved to Hendricks, Minnesota with Sharon until 2004 when they moved to the Briarwood Apartments in Brookings. He was a former member of Grace Lutheran Church, Watertown. In 1985 he joined the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls as a Charter Member. He is survived by his wife, Sharon of Brookings; his children, one son, Jim of Lake Norden, SD; two daughters, Lynalle (Daryle) Rust of Lake Norden, SD and Mary Fisk of Sioux Falls, SD; sister-in-law, Nathalie Atchison of St. Paul, MN; three granddaughters and three grandsons; twelve great grandchildren; and a lifelong friend Alta Kussman of Yankton, SD. Chester was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Donna on August 12, 1999, three brothers, two sisters, two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law.
