Clarice P. Logan, 100, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Bethany Home in Sioux Falls, SD. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Lake Norden Evangelical Covenant Church in Lake Norden, SD. A Visitation will be held one hour prior from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Lake Norden Evangelical Covenant Church in Lake Norden.
Clarice Petra was born February 16, 1925 in Hamlin County, SD to Peder and Palmena (Hansen) Iverson. She attended school in Hamlin County and graduated from Hayti High School and General Beadle College in Madison, SD. Clarice taught school at Logan School in Clark County and she met Donald Logan while she was boarding at Marvin and Mabel Logan's home. Clarice and Donald were married on June 15, 1945 in Lake Norden. She and Donald farmed in Clark County until 1964, when they moved to a farm near Bryant, SD. In 2001, they moved to Lake Norden, SD and later became residents of the Homestead Care Center in 2009. Clarice moved to Bethany Home in Sioux Falls in 2020.
Clarice was an active church member at the United Methodist Church in Clark and at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Lake Norden. She was a Sunday School and Bible School teacher for many years. She was active in the church's women groups. Clarice served on church boards and was chair of the Covenant Lutefisk Supper for many years. She also led Bible studies at the Bryant Care Center for over 15 years.
Clarice was a member of Extension Club, she was a 4-H leader and assisted with her children's 4-H projects. She enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles and word puzzles and games on her computer until her eyesight failed.
She is survived by her six children, Roger, Parker, SD, Carol (Larry) Bergjord, Sioux Falls, SD, Terry (Karen), Madison, SD, Marie Cissell, Sioux Falls, SD, Marlys (Arlen) Larsen, De Smet, SD, Vernon (Belinda) Logan, Colorado Springs, CO, 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one greatgreat granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, of 68 years in 2014, her sister, Ethel Larson, her brother, Floyd Iverson, two infant daughters, a granddaughter, Sharon Allen, daughter-in-law JeAnna Logan (Roger), son-in-law James Cissell (Marie) and daughter-in-law Doris Logan (Vernon).
