Robert Vander Schaaf, Officiating Interment Hillcrest Cemetery Estelline, South Dakota Visitation 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday at Geise Funeral Home in Estelline Clifford A. McClard, son of Harry and Sarah (Williams) McClard, was born April 2, 1913 in Marion County, Iowa. He received his education in rural school in Deuel County, South Dakota and was united in marriage to Frederika Willie Intveld on August 14, 1937. Cliff was employed for a short time at the Volga Creamery and then began farming near Estelline, South Dakota. They continued to farm until 1963 when they moved into Estelline and he worked as a carpenter. After retiring they wintered in Texas for 13 years. In May of 2002 they moved to Brookings and then entered the Estelline Nursing and Care Center on August 1, 2007. He died on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at the Brookings Hospital at the age of 94 years, 8 months and 6 days. He was a member of First Reformed Church in Volga and a past member of the Hamlin Reformed Church. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family and friends. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Willie of Estelline; four daughters, Bernita Hicks of Toronto, SD, Barbara Rossman and her husband Lyle of Watertown, SD, Beverly Petersen and her husband Myron of Daisy, ND, Beatrice Heismeyer and her husband Gerald of Plankinton, SD; two sons, Harry McClard and his wife Darlene of Rockwall, TX, Bert McClard and his wife Mary of Witchita, KS; 15 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, four brothers and three grandchildren, Timothy, Mark and Sarah.
