Clinton D. Nelson, 80, of Estelline, passed away Monday, May 06, 2019 at Prairie Lakes Hospital, in Watertown, SD. A memorial visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Monday, May 13, 2019 at Geise Funeral Home in Estelline, with a prayer service beginning at 4:00 pm.
Clinton D. Nelson was born January 22, 1939 to Clarence and Lela (Martinson) Nelson at Volga, SD. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arlington, SD. He received his education at Country School District 16 through the 8 th grade and attended Volga Public Schools. He enlisted in the US Air Force and served from 1956 until his honorable discharge in 1960. He worked various jobs in California until he returned to South Dakota to help his father and brother on the farm. Clinton moved to Watertown, SD and worked at Chickaha Mobile Homes for eight years before going to work for Watertown Monument for 20 years. He was married to Beulah Kjellsen (Boots) in 1977. She passed away in 2005. He moved to Estelline and married Donna Linneman on December 22, 2005.
Clinton loved to fish, enjoyed collecting antiques and always could be found visiting with anyone who crossed his path.
He is survived by his wife Donna, of Estelline; step children, Dennis (Michele) Linneman, Steven (Dianne) Linneman, Russell (Laura) Linneman, Terry Linneman, Jay (Sherri) Linneman, Lori (Gary) Lewis and Jodi (Scott) Mundahl; 19 step grandchildren, Travis, Kara, Devon, Kenny, Kristina, Lorraine, Isaac, Anne, Mary, Daniel, Nikki, Brady, Jesse, Christina, Jenelle, Cody, Tyler, Haley and Alyle; three sisters, Helen Fine, Eleanor Pedro, Kay Stephen and a host of step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Clinton was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Beulah Nelson; five brothers, Glen, George, Robert, Gene and Richard and four sisters, Betty, Dorothy, Sharon and Maxine.
