Clinton E. Rudebusch was born on February 7, 1926, in Bruce, SD, the son of George and Minnie (Meinders) Rudebusch. He died on Friday, June 6, 2008, at the Estelline Nursing and Care Center at the age of 82.

Clinton received his education in rural school near their home. He then farmed with his father and brothers and also worked for area farmers, at threshing and corn picking time. He served in the United States Marine Corps in 1945. He was united in marriage to Rosella Zirbes on February 22, 1949. In 1952, Bud and Rosie moved to the Zirbes family farm near Castlewood where they farmed for the rest of his life. They purchased the farm in 1964 and now Bud's grandchildren make the fifth generation on the farm. Bud also baled and stacked flax straw for several companies, including Archer Daniels Midland Co. and Olin Company during his farming years.

He was a member of the St. John's Church. Bud was a past member of the National Farmers Organization, and also served on the Hamlin County Soil Conservation Board as supervisor from 1979 - 2006. Bud also served on the Hamlin Township Board for many years.

Clinton is survived by his wife Rosella of Castlewood, SD; his children Rosemary (Roger) York of Watertown, SD, Rodney (Cindy) Rudebusch of Aurora, NE., Roxanne (Al) Kangas of Watertown, SD, Rochelle Rudebusch, Roger (Jeanette) Rudebusch, Randall (Glenda) Rudebusch all of Castlewood, SD, Roberta (Jerry) Healy of Prior Lake, MN; 13 grandchildren; and two sisters Georgia (George) Perry of Bruce, SD and Iola (Marvel) Jefferis of Estelline, SD.
