Cornelia Corky (VanBeek) TeKrony, daughter of F. Gerrit and Sadie (Hoogeboom) Van Beek, was born November 24, 1930 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. At a young age she moved with her family to Volga, South Dakota. Following her graduation from Volga High School, she worked briefly at Dahl Hardware in Volga After her marriage to Everett TeKrony on June 21, 1951, in Volga, they farmed near Castlewood, South Dakota. Everett died on October 13, 2005 and Corky continued to make the farm her home. She died on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown at the age of 79 years.

Corky loved the Lord and sought to serve Him her entire life. She was an active, thankful member of the Bemis Christian Reformed Church until it closed in May of 2004. She was currently a member of Hamlin Reformed Church and attended the monthly Seniors Bible Study. She actively participated in the operation of the family farm her entire life and was the calf feeding expert. She loved spending time with her family and in her free time enjoyed puzzles and puzzle books. During baseball season she was an avid Minnesota Twins fan.

She is survived by her four children and 13 grandchildren, Bob and Brenda Mast of Wyoming, MI, (Sara, Brian and Rachel, Rachel and Nick Negen, Nadine and Dustin Boven), Wayne and Gwen TeKrony of Castlewood, (Jeff and Kim, Angela and Todd Moritz, Amanda, April and Jared Brouwer), Rod and Lois VanDerVliet of Colton, SD, (Ryan and Sarah, Lisa and Jamie Johnson, Lori and Ryan Fods), Lee and Sharon Bleeker of Raymond, MN, (Justin and Jamie), 17 great grandchildren plus one due in April; her brother, Bob Van Beek and his wife Ardith of Volga; and her in-laws, Laura Mans and her husband Bob and Art Mulder, all of Volga, Henny VanBeek of Holland, MI, Garret TeKrony and his wife Henrietta of Brookings, SD; many nephews and nieces; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Everett, her parents, her brothers, Conrad, Charles and Gerrit VanBeek and her sisters, Wilhelmina Lengkeek and Alice Mulder.
