Cynthia J. (Krause) Popham, daughter of DuWayne and Shirley (Janssen) Krause, was born March 11, 1957 in Watertown, South Dakota. She grew up near Castlewood and received her education in the Castlewood Schools, graduating from high school in 1975. She was united to Brad Popham at the American Lutheran Church on July 9, 1976. Cindy was employed at Empi in Clear Lake from 1987 until 1996. She died on Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown at the age of 52 years.

Cindy was a member of the American Lutheran Church. She enjoyed doing all of the activities at the Estelline Nursing and Care Center, and also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, the outdoors, animals and camping.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband Brad of Castlewood; one son Tim Popham and his wife Stacey of Castlewood; one daughter, Kristy VanGuilder of Watertown; three grandchildren, Jordan, Brody and Tahlor; her father and step-mother, DuWayne and Maxine Krause of Watertown; her grandmother, Margie Janssen of Castlewood; one sister, Sheila Krause of Watertown; one brother, Richard Krause and his wife Tammi of Watertown; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother Shirley and one sister Sonja.
