Shearer was born on January 2, 1941 in Estelline, South Dakota the daughter of Peter and Mary (Pedersen) Timmer. She died on Friday, July 14, 2006 at her residence in Goodwin, SD at the age of 65. Darlene was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Estelline. She received her education in Estelline and was a graduate of the Estelline High School in 1959. She was united in marriage to LeRoy Shearer on March 4, 1960 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Darlene was employed at various places throughout her life including Valley Dry Cleaners in Sioux Falls, manager of I-Cap in Madison, SD, Smith Equipment for several years and Twin City Die Cast in Watertown, SD for several years. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, horses, reading, pets and especially spending time with family and friends. Darlene is survived by her husband LeRoy of Goodwin, SD; her children Rose Star of Watertown, SD, John Shearer (Carlita) of Moor, OK, Mike Shearer and his fianc (Elizabeth) of Goodwin, SD; eight grandchildren Amy, Angie, Aaron, Clarissa, Justin, Dallas, Lindsey and Jessica; and her mother Mary Timmer of Estelline, SD. She was preceded in death by her father and one sister (Marge).
