David Lund, Officiating Interment Castlewood Cemetery Visitation 5PM to 7PM Sunday at American Lutheran Church in Castlewood to be followed by a Prayer Service at 7PM. Della Mae (Barnes) Aronson, daughter of Albert John and Johanna Della (Kemink) Barnes, was born August 4, 1922 in Hamlin County near Castlewood, South Dakota. She attended rural school and graduated from Castlewood High School in 1940. She was employed as a clerk at Joe Culey Grocery Store and also worked as a bookkeeper for the Farmer's Cooperative Creamery until 1947. Della was united in marriage to Idor Aronson at her parent's home at Castlewood on April 23, 1946. They made their home in Castlewood. Idor died on October 17, 1971 and Della continued to make Castlewood her home. She worked at Midland Ross in Watertown from September of 1979 until 1982. She moved to the Castlewood Assisted Living Center in December of 2009. Della died on Friday, March 25, 2011 at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown at the age of 88 years. She was a member of American Lutheran Church in Castlewood where she was active with the ALCW and served on many committees. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Della was a caring, loving and nurturing wife, mother, grandmother. Some of her happiest times was spending time with her family and playing games with the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Karen Dianne (Dennis) Lund of Castlewood, James (Linda) Aronson of Darby, MT, Beverly Jean (Douglas) Kruiter, Gwen Ann (Wayne) TeKrony, Neda Kay (Richard) Ries and Dawn Rae (Jeffrey) Sikkink, all of Castlewood; 18 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a sister and brother-in-law, Helen and John Van Dyke and her brother-in-law Maynard Aronson and his wife Grace.
