Delores Buschenfeld, 86, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at The Neighborhoods at Brookview, in Brookings. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Clear Lake, with Pastor Michael Enderle officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday at Geise Funeral Home in Estelline.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Delores Evelyn Chenoweth was born on November 27, 1935, in Mitchell, SD, the daughter of Alfred and Dulania (Churchill) Chenoweth. She grew up in Brookings, graduating from Brookings High School in 1954. While going to school she worked at Nick's Hamburger Shop on Main Street, Brookings.

Delores married Clarence Buschenfeld on February 20, 1956. The couple farmed one mile from the family farm in Deuel County, near Toronto. Delores did many jobs, but her main job was helping her husband on the farm and raise her children. She was also involved in the American Legion Auxiliary in Estelline. She was an active member of the Mt. Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church Ladies Aid of Estelline and a Sunday school teacher. Delores enjoyed getting together to play cards with friends and neighbors, loved dancing, playing accordion and listening to polka music. She always helped out others instead of herself. Her passion was going to and playing Bingo! Her eyes would light up when together with family, especially seeing her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were her pride and joy.

Delores is survived by her two daughters, Sharon (Robert) Kasdorf of Brookings and Shirley (Dan) Krause of Estelline, SD; three grandchildren, Travis (Mindy) Krause of Estelline, Katelynn (Joshua) Larson of Herreid and Kendal (Elen) Krause of Estelline; three great grandchildren, Maci and Becca Larson of Herreid and Addison Krause of Estelline' two sisters, Patty Jensen of Arlington and Bernice Sorensen-Koester of DeSmet along with several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence; one sister, Alberta Schulte and an infant brother.
