(Saathoff) Lamberg, daughter of Gede and Cecile (Strain) Saathoff, was born March 29, 1931 at Castlewood, South Dakota. She grew up and received her education at Dempster. Donna was united in marriage to Willis Lamberg on September 29, 1948 in Watertown, South Dakota. Following their marriage they farmed south of Lake Poinsett for 29 years. While on the farm she worked as a waitress at Pier 81. In 1977 they moved into Estelline and Donna was employed at the Estelline Hardware and as a seamstress in Arlington, South Dakota before retiring in 2001. She died on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the Estelline Nursing and Care Center at the age of 77 years. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Dempster where she was active in the Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the Thursday Card Club, Senior Citizens and various card groups. She enjoyed spending time with family, playing cards, bowling and fishing. Grateful for having shared her life are her brother, Ron Saathoff and his wife Lana of Estelline; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Foster of Estelline; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. Donna was preceded in death by her husband Willis on September 12, 1990; her parents; and one sister Judy Foster.
