Obituary

Douglas L. Pedersen, 73, of Estelline, passed away Monday, May 24, 2021, at Brookings Health System. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Geise Funeral Home in Estelline. A private family service will be held. A complete obituary will be forthcoming. Geise Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements

Douglas L Pedersen was born on November 24, 1947, in Estelline, SD, the son of Albert and Marge (Jorvig) Pedersen. He attended country school throughout the Estelline area. Following school, Doug went to work for area farmers before going to work at the Estelline Elevator. He was united in marriage to Agatha Toering on June 4, 1967, in Estelline. Doug went on to work for Kalsbeck Manufacturing before opening up Doug's Welding Shop in Estelline. He also farmed on the side, a passion he kept at until his passing.

Doug loved restoring old tractors and collecting antique tools and machinery. In his younger years, he enjoyed working on racecars and going to races.

He is surived by his wife, Agatha Pedersen, of Estelline, SD; three children, Coleen Pedersen (Lawrence Rogge) of Ghent, MN, Vicki Dahl (Dan) of Watertown, SD and Dennis Pedersen (Heidi) of Estelline, SD; his grandchildren, Cailin Morris (Cole),  Jena Dahl, Austin Rogge, Michael Dahl, Dawsen Pedersen, Dalten Pedersen and Delaney Pedersen; great granddaughter, Harper Morris; two brothers, Curt Pedersen, of Lake Norden, SD and Ron Pedersen, of Estelline, SD; sister, Sue (Dave) IntVeld, of Bruce, SD along with his nieces and nephew.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Noreen Pedersen.
