Ella Rose Koistinen, 17, of Lake Norden, South Dakota passed away June 20 ^th , 2022, Surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church 44768 SD Hwy 28, Lake Norden, on Saturday June 25 ^th ,2022 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be held Friday June 24 ^th ,2022 from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm at the church. Geise Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Ella Rose was born to Charles and Michelle (Hogan) Koistinen on January 25 ^th , 2005, in Watertown, South Dakota. She was a baptized member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church.

Ella was diagnosed with Dravet syndrome at a young age. She had many health trials throughout her life. Ella touched many hearts.

Family was the most important thing to Ella. She loved her family, snuggling with her nieces and nephews, watching and listening to the birds outside her window and her stuffed animals. Ella was a blessing to her family and a pure example to everyone she met. Ella's smiles were her best gift.

Ella is survived by parents, Charles and Michelle of Lake Norden, SD; siblings, Dion (Stephanie) Koistinen of Lake Norden, Shania (Alan) Hofwalt of Castlewood SD, Chantel (Tristan) Weber of Lake Norden, Macie (Tommie) Swafford of Lake Norden, Callie (Cade) Marttinen of Lake Norden, Dwight (Taylor) Koistinen of Bryant, Audrey Koistinen and Avery Koistinen of Lake Norden; seven nieces; four nephews;  paternal grandmother, Marie Koistinen of Lake Norden; maternal grandfather, Darwin Hogan Sr. of Florence SD; many aunts, uncles and a host of relatives and friends.

Ella was preceded in death by her grandfather, Clarence Koistinen; grandmother, Rosezella Hogan; aunt, Debbie Jants, and four cousins.
