Ellen (Goodfellow) Klinsky, daughter of Herb and Bertha (Cotton) Goodfellow, was born March 9, 1923, at Volga, South Dakota. She grew up and received her education near Bruce, South Dakota and graduated from Volga High School. She was united in marriage to Milo Klinsky on October 24, 1944 in Venice, California while he was serving in the U.S. Air Force. After his discharge they returned to Bruce and farmed for 11 years before moving to Long Beach, California in 1956. Ellen was employed as a switchboard operator at Lakewood General Hospital in Lakewood, California until retiring in 1984. After Milos death on August 2, 1995 she remained in California until moving to Brookings in 1996. In 2004 Ellen moved to Huron to live with her son and daughter-in-law, Rich and Gayle. She died on Friday, July 17, 2009 at her residence in Huron at the age of 86 years, 4 months and 8 days.

She was currently a member of the Huron Christian Church, a former member of Preston Christian Church and was a charter member of the Parkcrest Christian Church while living in Long Beach.

Grateful for having shared her life are three children, Richard and his wife Gayle of Huron, SD, Ronald and his wife Ruth of Palmdale, CA, Gale Knouse and her husband Kevin of Wasilla, AK; six grandchildren, Stephen, Lisa and her husband Eti, Kristi, April, Melissa and her husband Robert and Amanda; one sister, Letha Kinney of Estelline, SD; one sister-in-law, Mary Lou Goodfellow of Bruce; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Milo; her parents; two brothers Horace and his wife Irene and Frank; one sister Blanche and her husband Earl DeBoer; and one brother-in-law, Med Kinney.
