(Savela) Rust, daughter of Matthew and Hilma (Kinnunen) Savela, was born August 1, 1924 in Hamlin County, South Dakota. She received her education in rural school in Hamlin County and attended Lake Norden High School. Enid lived in Detroit, Michigan and was employed in an airplane factory. After her marriage to Ernest A. Rust on January 15, 1946 in Estelline, they farmed near Lake Norden. Enid was employed at the Beverly Healthcare in Lake Norden for 14 years and they continued to farm until their retirement in 1985. Ernest died on August 6, 2002. Enid died on Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown at the age of 80 years, 10 months and 28 days. She was a member of St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church in Dempster and enjoyed crocheting, reading, gardening and especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Grateful for having shared her life are one son Daryle Rust and his wife Nell of Lake Norden; two daughters, Connie Mader and her husband Don of Prior Lake, MN and Vickie Huffman and her husband Lester of San Antonio, TX; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Enid was preceded in death by her husband Ernest; her parents; two sisters, Ellen and Elyria; and three brothers, Raymond in infancy, Wesley and Willard.
