Faye D. Kones, 86, of Watertown, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee, MN. Private family services will be held at a later date. Geise Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Faye DeEtte Uckert was born on June 9, 1935, in Watertown, SD, the daughter of Fred and Myrtle (Moen) Uckert. She attended school in Hillcrest No. 62 in Havana Township before graduating from Clear Lake High School in 1953. She went to work for the Superintendent of Schools in Deuel County until she was united in marriage to Joseph Kones on October 6, 1958, at First Presbyterian Church parsonage in Castlewood, SD. The couple was blessed with two daughters, JoAnn and LynEtte. Faye stayed home to raise the children and kept the home.

Faye enjoyed genealogy, scrapbooking, putting together photo albums, gardening, ceramics and writing poetry. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her two daughters JoAnn Kones & LynEtte Crocker, both of Watertown, SD, a grandson Jason Crocker of Sioux Falls and a granddaughter Rebecca and her husband Mitchell Benson of Shakopee, MN and 2 great granddaughters Josie & Evelyn Benson and a sister, Frona Aderhold; sister-in-law, Hazel Klos and several nieces and nephews.

Faye was proceeded in death by her husband of 62 years, Joe Kones; her parents and several brothers- and sisters-in-law.
