Frances R. Stroschein Estelline, South Dakota Funeral Service 11:00 A.M., Thursday, August 21, 2008 Trinity Lutheran Church Estelline, South Dakota Rev. Ann E.S. Webb, Officiating Interment Hillcrest Cemetery Estelline, South Dakota Visitation 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday at Geise Funeral Home in Estelline. Frances R. Stroschein, 92 of Estelline, died Sunday, August 17, 2008, of natural causes at the Hudson Care Center in Hudson, South Dakota. Frances R. (Steffen) Stroschein, daughter of Emil and Maria (Lemcke) Steffen, was born in White Lake, South Dakota on January 23, 1916, as one of eight children. She was educated in White Lake Public School and graduated from Northern State Teachers College in Aberdeen, South Dakota with a degree in elementary education. Throughout her 45 year teaching career she taught in Phillip, Toronto and Estelline schools. In 1945, she married Lyle Stroschein and together they resided on the family farm at Toronto, South Dakota until moving into Estelline in 1996. Lyle died on December 20, 2002. Frances spent her life as a farmers wife, a mother, grandmother, teacher, pianist and accomplished artist. She lived by the motto that: To teach is to touch a life forever. Those grateful for having shared her life include two sons, Gregg and his wife Gayle (Ward) of Elk Point, SD, Ross of Toronto, SD; three grandsons, Chad and his wife Kari (Duhaime), Jason and his wife Candace (Trunkel) and Corey and his wife Jenn (Bolstad); four great grandchildren, Taylor, Hannah, Drew and Carter; and one sister, Irene (Steffen) Smith of Las Vegas, NV. She was preceded in death by her husband Lyle, her parents and six brothers and sisters.
