Fred. W. "Bud" Jurgens Estelline, South Dakota Fred W. "Bud" Jurgens, son of Fred and Elsie (Goodroad) Jurgens, was born December 17, 1928 in Brookings County, South Dakota. He received his education in rural school District #56 in Brookings County. Bud was united in marriage to Rosemond "Rose" Moen on June 9, 1957 in Lake Norden, South Dakota. Following their marriage they farmed in Deuel County until 1979 when they moved into Estelline. Bud continued to work for area farmers on a part-time basis. He died on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at the Estelline Nursing and Care Center at the age of 83 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Estelline. He enjoyed gardening, collecting banks, model cars and coins. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Rose of Estelline; two daughters, Kathy Gross and her husband Christopher of Brookings, Julie Jurgens Vallie and her husband Tom of Sioux Falls; two sons, Randy Jurgens and his wife Lori of Sioux Falls, Alan Jurgens of Buckeye, AZ; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Jurgens and his wife Darlene and Robert Jurgens, all of Watertown; one sister Alice Schulte and her husband Dave of Hillpoint, WI; and a host of other relatives and friends. Bud was preceded in death by his parents, one brother LeRoy and one sister Doris Hovey. Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Estelline. Visitation will be from 4PM to 7PM Tuesday at Geise Funeral Home in Estelline.
