Christopherson, son of Alvin and Carrie (Engene) Christpherson, was born November 11, 1940 at Sisseton, South Dakota. He attended school at Revillo, New Effington and Bath, South Dakota and graduated from Toronto High School. He attended trade school in Minneapolis and was then employed at Great Northern Railroad. Gary served in the U.S. Navy from December 11, 1963 until October 8, 1965 and following his discharge was employed with Burlington Northern Railroad in Minneapolis and Grand Forks. He moved to Lake Norden when he retired. He died on Saturday, September 2, 2006 at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown at the age of 65 years, 9 months and 21 days. Gary was confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. He enjoyed collecting paintings and various objects, reading, was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed his nieces and nephews. Grateful for having shared his life are his brothers and sister, Donald of Sioux Falls, SD, Virginia Bandt Excelsior, MN, Richard and his wife Joyce of Watertown, SD, Neil and Noel both of Hayti, SD, Jim and his wife Carol of Hutchinson, MN; a sister-in-law, Jewel Christopherson of Pierre, SD; 12 nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Dale.
