Faehn, son of Oscar and Eva (Morgan) Faehn, was born January 30, 1933 in Watertown, South Dakota. He grew up in the Wallace and Estelline, South Dakota areas and was a graduate of Estelline High School. He proudly served in the United State Air Force for over 20 years. During his service, he was stationed overseas as well as in the United States. He was united in marriage to Wendy Briggs on December 18, 1954 in Bournemouth, England. After his discharge from the military, he was a facilities manager with Comserve Corporation. Here he assisted in the design and construction of their world headquarters building. After his retirement he took great pride driving a school bus for school district #196 in Apple Valley, Minnesota. He moved to Estelline in April of 2007 where he built his dream home. Gerald went to meet the Lord in his home surrounded by his children and grandchildren on Wednesday, July 18, 2007. He was 74 years old. He was a member of the Estelline American Legion and the Air Force Sergeants Association. Grateful for having shared his life are one son Jeff Faehn and his wife Robin of Amarillo, TX; two daughters, Lori Reller and her husband Tom of Rosemount, MN, Rachael Dols and her husband Dan of Prior Lake, MN; seven grandchildren, Ian, Lauren and Colin Faehn, Jessica, Darcy and Troy Reller, and Ashley Dols; one brother, Earl Faehn and his wife Vickie of Henderson, NV; three sisters, Eileen Miller of Houston, TX, Dorothy Blum of Clear Lake, SD, Loretta Kalsbeck and her husband Gerald of Estelline, SD; and a host of other relatives and friends. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Andrew.
