Terry Drew, Officiating Interment Castlewood Cemetery Castlewood, South Dakota Visitation 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM on Friday at the Church Gladys Arlene (Parliament) Goodroad, daughter of Gilford and Annie (Anderson) Parliament, was born May 12, 1919 at Castlwood, South Dakota. She spent her early years and received her education in the Castlewood area and was united in marriage to Arthur Goodroad on September 16, 1937 in Watertown. After their marriage they farmed near Castlewood for six years until moving into Castlewood. They continued to live in Castlewood until moving to Watertown in 1994. Arthur died on January 30, 1999 after he and Gladys had been married for 61 years. Gladys moved to White, South Dakota in 2000 to be closer to family and entered the White Care Center on May 4, 2004. She died there on Monday, July 4, 2005 at the age of 86 years, 1 month and 22 days. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Castlewood and enjoyed her flower garden, craft work, having coffee with her many friends and word search puzzle books. Grateful for having shared her life are one daughter, Marjorie Rue of White, SD; one son, Ronald Goodroad of Redfield, SD; three grandchildren, Debra, Linda and David; four great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters and one brother.
