Gladys Gorder was born on July 22, 1918 at Bozeman, MT, the daughter of Elmer and Margaret (Cooney) Miller. She died on Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at the Estelline Nursing and Care Center at the age of 88. Gladys moved with her family to Mora, MN at an early age and received her education in Quamba and Brook Park, MN. After receiving her education she was employed in Chicago. Gladys was united in marriage to Arnold C. Gorder on February 14, 1940, in Canby, MN. She was actively involved in the family farming operation east of Estelline until their retirement when they moved into Estelline, SD. Gladys was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed cooking, serving other people, gardening, flowers, and especially spending time with family and friends. She is survived by one daughter Laura (Merlyn) Nicola of Estelline, SD; three sons Arnold (Beverly) Gorder 0f Red Wing, MN, David (Tammy) Gorder of Estelline, SD, Dale Gorder and Sam of Henry, SD; 17 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; one great- great grandchild; two sisters Eileen Brunz of Ambay, MN and Stella Ziegler of Estelline, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arnold, one son Laurence, one brother Alvin and two sisters Harriet and Pearl.
