Harry John Anderson was born August 2, 1924, on a farm in Badger Township, Kingsbury County, the 12th child in a family of twelve to Adolph and Selma (Anderson) Anderson.  He grew up and received his education at Country School District #58, 1 ½ miles from his home. After graduating from the eighth grade, he began farming and farmed his entire life, having lived on the same farm for 79 years.  After recovering from West Nile Disease in 2003, he moved to Lake Norden. Harry enjoyed fishing, hunting and outdoor activities. A special hobby of his was making small replica farm toys and yard ornaments from metal or wood.

Harry entered the Lake Norden Care Center in May of 2017 and died there on Monday, September 18, 2017 at the age of 93 years, 1 month and 16 days.

Harry was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Norden. He was baptized and confirmed at Clara Lutheran Church, rural Erwin. He also served on boards for several organizations.

Grateful for having shared his life are a special friend and companion Ethel Koistinen of Lake Norden and her children Sue and Mike Petersen and Alyce and Terry Johnson and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great great-nieces and nephews.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Elmer, Art, and Lawrence; six sisters, Julia, Lilly, Julia Christina, Ida, Mabel, and Emma, and two siblings in infancy.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, September 21, at Geise Funeral Home in Lake Norden and prior to services at the church on Friday.

Funeral services will be Friday, September 22, in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Norden at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor David Patterson officiating.  Burial will be in the Clara Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Erwin.
