Webb, Officiating Interment Hillcrest Cemetery Estelline, South Dakota Visitation 4PM to 7PM Friday at Geise Funeral Home in Estelline Hazel (Millage) Colberg, daughter of Virgil and Hulda (Carlson) Millage, was born September 12, 1910 in Charles Mix County, South Dakota. She spent her early years and received her education in rural school in Charles Mix County and also attended high school in Rivinia, South Dakota. After her marriage to Ole Colberg on February 8, 1928 in Revinia they farmed in the Toronto-Estelline-Astoria area. They then owned and operated the Colberg Caf' in Astoria until moving to Brookings. While living in Brookings, Hazel was employed as a cook at Ione's Caf' and the Rainbow Caf' and also worked at Spies Grocery Store until 1972 when they retired and moved to Estelline. Ole died on July 10, 1989 and Hazel continued to make Estelline her home. She entered the Estelline Nursing and Care Center in July of 2003 and died there on Thursday, November 13, 2003 at the age of 93 years, 2 months and 1 day. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, church circle, WELCA and the Willing Workers Extension Club. She especially enjoyed crocheting. Grateful for having shared her life are one son, Earl Colberg and his wife Shirley of Estelline; two daughters, Phyllis Ribstein and her husband Neil of Bruce, SD and Jeanette Anderson and her husband James of Brandt, SD; two daughters-in-law, Darlene Colberg of Estelline and Betty Colberg of Cosmos, MN; one son-in-law, Albert "Rusty" Schieber of Colman, SD; 30 grandchildren; 79 great grandchildren; 21 great great grandchildren; two sisters, Millie Hendricks and her husband Faye of Alcester, SD and Wilma Hampton of Colorado Springs, CO; and a host of other relatives and friends. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two sons, Wally and Leslie; one daughter, Joyce Schieber; one grandson, Duane Colberg; and one granddaughter, Pat Hess.
