Henry B. Oines Estelline, South Dakota Memorial Service 1:30 P.M., Wednesday, May 4, 2005 Trinity Lutheran Church Estelline, South Dakota Rev. Ann E.S. Webb, Officiating Henry B. Oines was born April 28, 1910 in Volga, South Dakota, the son of Ole and Inga (Grudem) Oines. He spent his early years and received his education in Volga Schools and graduated from Volga High School in 1928. He continued his education at St. Olaf College and graduated in 1932 with a B.A. Degree. Henry was united in marriage to Margaret Larson on September 8, 1932 in Ellsworth, Wisconsin. After their marriage they farmed for two years until moving to Minneapolis, Minnesota where he was employed at Montgomery Wards. He was later transferred to Brookings, South Dakota. In 1938 they moved to Estelline where Henry was an International Harvester dealer for 11 years and also continued to farm until his retirement in 1972. Their winter months were spent traveling in most of the 48 states, Mexico, Canada and Norway. He died on Thursday, April 28, 2005 at the Estelline Nursing and Care Center on his 95th birthday. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Estelline and also served on the Hospital Board, Church Board and the School Board for 22 years. He enjoyed traveling and playing golf. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Margaret of Estelline; three sons, Ronald Oines and his wife Audrey of Estelline, Robert Oines and his wife Marianne of North Port, FL, Roger Oines and his wife Mildred of Brookings, SD; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Roy Ludtke of Loveland, CO; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, three brothers and three sisters.
