Henry TeKrony, 96, of Estelline, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2020, at the Estelline Nursing and Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Monday, March 2, 2020, at Volga Christian Reformed Church, in Volga. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm Sunday at Geise Funeral Home in Estelline.

Henry TeKrony was born on September 9, 1923, in Bemis, SD, the son of John and Sarah (Boogerd) TeKrony. He grew up in the Bemis area and attended Country School District 19 through the 8 ^th grade before graduating from Clear Lake High School in 1941. Henry was united in marriage to Henrietta Hoogwerf on October 19, 1956, in Volga, SD. Henry farmed most of his life near Bemis. In 1990, Henry and Henrietta moved to Estelline, and Henry continued to help on the farm for a number of years. The couple moved to the Castlewood Assisted Living Center in 2019.

Henry enjoyed reading the newspaper, his Bible, religious material, magazines, gardening, and more than anything, spending time with his grandchildren. He was a former member of the Country School Board, Havana Township Board, Bemis Christian Reformed, the church consistory and served as Sunday School Superintendent. He was currently a member of Volga Christian Reformed Church.

He is survived by his wife, Henrietta TeKrony, of Castlewood, SD; three children, Joanne (Daniel) Elenbaas, of Helena, MT, Arlan TeKrony, of Volga, SD and Norman (Candace) TeKrony, of Sioux Center, IA;  daughter-in-law, Denise TeKrony, of Garvin, MN; sixteen grandchildren, Jason Elenbaas, Maria Murphy, Crystal Wiersma, Olivia Elenbaas, Amy Dunlop, Renae Kapteyn, Jonathan TeKrony, Jesse TeKrony, Leannah TeKrony, Elijah TeKrony, Evelyn TeKrony, Caleb TeKrony, Megan TeKrony, Elena TeKrony, Jared TeKrony and Lydia TeKrony and nine great grandchildren.

Henry is preceded in death by his parents; son, Sylvan and brother, James TeKrony.
