Obituary

Irwin J. Linneman was born on September 6, 1918, in Osceola County, Iowa, the son of John W. and Mary E. (Schoo) Linneman. He died on Friday, April 25, 2008, at the Brookview Manor in Brookings, South Dakota at the age of 89.

Irwin received his education in Estelline, South Dakota. After receiving his education he farmed near Estelline until entering the United States Army in 1942, and serving his country until his discharge in 1944. In 1945, he married Maxine Pedersen. Maxine died in October of 1952. Irwin was united in marriage to Audrey (Knuth) Tuin on April 21, 1957, in Estelline. They continued to farm until his retirement in 1981. They moved to Brookings in 2007.

He was a member of the St. Francis deSales Catholic Church in Estelline and the American Legion. He enjoyed reading, fishing and especially spending time with his family.

Irwin is survived by his wife Audrey of Brookings, SD; his children Curt (Denise) Linneman of Waukee, IA, Kathy (Dave) Engebretson of New Albany, IN, Maureen Papka and her fiancé John Radtke of Brookings, SD, Myron (LaVonne) Linneman of Sioux Falls, SD, Brian (Vicky) Linneman of Volga, SD, Nancy (Mark) Hausman of Brookings, SD; 12 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Maxine, and two sisters Eva and Zita.
