Jacob William Dahl, son of Jeff and Lesa (Cummings) Dahl, was born April 13, 1995 in Watertown, South Dakota. In 1999 his family moved to Castlewood where he grew up and received his education, graduating from Castlewood High School in 2013. He was currently a student at Northern State University in Aberdeen, majoring in Special Education and coaching, especially football. He was also a member of the Aberdeen Army Reserve while attending school. Jacob died on Thursday, October 23, 2014 as the result of an auto accident near Andover, South Dakota at the age of 19 years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Castlewood and very involved with Rimrock Church Camp where he had served as a counselor for two years. While in high school he liked all sports and participated in football, track and band. Jacob also enjoyed auto racing and the Minnesota Vikings. He was very special to his brother Jarred. Grateful for having shared his life are his parents, Jeff and Lesa Dahl of Castlewood; his brother Jarred at home; his grandmother Myrle Cummings of Castlewood; a step grandmother Barb; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends. Jacob was preceded in death by his grandparents, Duane Dahl, Constance Dahl and Les Cummings, one uncle David Cummings and a cousin Angela Cummings Daniel. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at the Castlewood School Gymnasium. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday at First Presbyterian Church in Castlewood.
