James V. Dokter, son of William and Katherine (Hook) Dokter, was born August 19, 1939, at Bristol, South Dakota. He grew up on the family farm and stayed in various communities in South Dakota. James has been a resident of the Estelline Nursing and Care Center since August 28, 1978. He died there on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at the age of 70 years, 8 months and 24 days.
He loved animals, especially dogs and loved to also spend time sitting by the bird aviary at the nursing home.
In addition to the staff and residents of the Estelline Nursing and Care Center, James is survived by a sister, Jacqueline Kotzea of Webster, South Dakota and other brothers and sisters in California.
