Obituary

Jeanette N. McConahay Clear Lake, South Dakota Memorial Service 11:00 A.M., Friday, February 16, 2007 Bemis Holland Presbyterian Church Rural Clear Lake, South Dakota Rev. Terry Drew, Officiating Jeanette Nell (Noteboom) McConahay, daughter of Mickel and Ada (Hoiten) Noteboom, was born May 12, 1915 at Canistota, South Dakota. She grew up in eastern South Dakota and was united in marriage to Harold Ruesink on October 24, 1933. They farmed in the Clear Lake area and to this union, three children were born, Mary Ann, Denice and Darryl. Harold died in 1948 and Jeanette was married to Roland (Mac) McConahay on January 14, 1950 in Canton, South Dakota. They lived in Canton for ten years and Michelle, John and Susan were born of this marriage. They moved to the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area and in 1978 they retired and moved to California. Roland died in 1985 and after his death Jeanette lived in various parts of the country with her children. She entered the Deuel County Good Samaritan Center in Clear Lake on May 30, 2000 and died there on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at the age of 91 years, 9 months and 1 day. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, active in the Ladies Aid and also a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking, painting and arts and crafts. Grateful for having shared her life are three daughters, Denice Wentworth of Newberry Springs, CA, Michelle Kulwicki and her husband Gary of Milwaukee, WI, Susan Forster of Oconomowoc, WI; one son, Darryl Ruesink and his wife Maurine of Sioux Falls; 14 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; two brothers, Verdell Noteboom of Portland, OR, Michael Noteboom and his wife Karleen of Milford, IA; four sisters, Darlene Gage of Pierre, SD, Nelvina Huxtable of Reno, NV, Marynel Jorgenson and her husband Douglas of Sioux Falls, Marlyce Cassels of Aberdeen, SD; and a host of other relatives and friends. ` Jeanette was preceded in death by her two husbands, one son John, one daughter Mary Ann, her parents and one brother Edward.
