Jeffrey Alan Nystrom, 55, of Estelline, South Dakota, died on Monday, December 24, 2018.  Funeral Services will be 10:00am, Saturday, December  29, 2018, at the American Legion in Estelline.  Visitation will be from 5pm until 7pm, Friday, at the Geise Funeral Home in Estelline, SD.

Jeff was born on April 19, 1963, in Brookings, South Dakota, the son of Verner and Margaret (Simonson) Nystrom.  He received his education in the Estelline Schools and was a graduate of the Estelline High School in 1981.  Jeff attended South West University in Marshall, MN for electronics and later attended Mitchell Vo-Tech in Mitchell, SD.   After receiving his education he was employed at various places including Paul Nelson Construction, Estelline Community Oil, Coast to Coast Warehouse in Brookings, SD.  He was united in marriage to Lorry Baxter on March 22, 1991, in Estelline.  In 2003, Jeff became self employed and owned and operated Jeff's Heating and Air conditioning Service which he continued to operate until present.  During this time he also worked for an Insurance Agency as a claims adjuster, Pyro Tech for Lew's Fireworks in Watertown, SD, and most recently for Bel Brands in Brookings, SD.

Jeff was very active in his community and served as First Assistant Chief for the Estelline Fire Dept., was an Ambulance Driver for the Estelline Ambulance Service, Secretary for Brookings County Firefighters Association, Hamlin County Skywarn as a weather spotter, Cert (Community Emergency Responders Team), propane instructor, as well as many jobs for I-CAP.  He was also a past member of United Church of Christ church board and past president of Estelline Jaycee's.

Jeff is survived by his wife Lorry of Estelline, SD; his children, Amanda Nystrom of Estelline, Melinda (J.J.) Glines of Langford, SD, Conrad (Julie Golas) Kreger of Estelline, Jesse (Candy) Kreger of Ninilchik, Alaska, Travis (Jessica) Kreger of Arlington, SD; 17 grandchildren, Seth (Whitney) Skoglund of Watertown, SD, Damian (Ashlee) Kreger of Watertown, Alyssa Kreger of Dempster, SD, Levi (Fotinia) Kreger of Molalla, Oregon, Brandon Golas of Sioux Falls, SD, Cerie Hotchkin of Arlington, SD, Marissa Golas of Estelline Alexis Kreger of Ninilchik, Brooklin Kreger of Langford, Morgan Glines of Langford, Rylan Kreger of Ninilchik, Hezikiah Kreger of Estelline, Sierra Kreger of Estelline, Conner Glines of Langford, , Carter Glines of Langford, Sabrina Houff of Estelline and Dillinger Kreger of Estelline; 11 great grandchildren, Brody, Sophie, Taya, Emery, Joliana, Harley, Parker, Easton, William, Leroy, KarmaLynn;  and brothers Gary (Cindy) Nystrom of Battle Creek, IA and David (Marceen) Nystrom of Estelline, SD.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister (Jeannette Nystrom).
