Jenna Kay Lundquist, 51, passed away Friday, September 2, 2022 at home with her family by her side. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arlington, SD. Visitation will be held the night prior from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on September 7, 2022 at the Trinity Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made toward a scholarship fund in Jenna's name.
Jenna was born on July 19, 1971 to David Hempel and Janet Mast. She grew up in Webster, SD graduating from Webster High School in 1989. She continued her education, graduating with a bachelor's degree from Mankato State University.
She was joined in marriage on April 27th, 2013 to Corey Lundquist in Arlington, SD where they lived together. Jenna once shared, "Our marriage and the union of our children is the biggest blessing of my life." Jenna was blessed with their eight children; Krystal (Tyler) Roth of Brookings, SD, Kali Ulrich of Brandon, SD, Andy Lundquist of Philadelphia, PA, Hannah Rowe, Brayden Rowe, Jael Lundquist, Sawyer Lundquist and Brody Miller of Arlington, SD and her two grandbabies Lennyn Jackson of Arlington, SD and Calvin Ulrich of Brandon, SD.
Jenna touched many people with the jobs she held as a paralegal and locally at Kingbrook Rural Water. Jenna also enjoyed numerous hobbies and activities some of which included bible study, attending local sporting events, completing puzzles, sipping coffee with friends, adding to her collection of shoes, and above all enjoying time with the people she cared about.
Jenna was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Arlington and served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, bible study leader, and other various roles within the church. She also served her community in the Summer Youth Baseball Program.
Jenna's family and friends describe her as faithful servant, tenacious fighter, devoted wife, mother and daughter, humanitarian, and unending giver of love. Jenna understood the importance of acceptance and a vigilant devotion to supporting all.
She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren and parents David (Mary) Hempel of Webster, SD and Janet VanderZalm of Brookings, SD, parents-in-law Curt (Renae) Lundquist, her siblings Scott (Rochell) Lundquist, Michelle (Ryan) Larsen(Trevor and Morgan), Tessa (Paul) Hempel, Kerra (Andy) Hempel, Becca Hempel, Kellen Hempel, and Marra Hempel and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Pete and Clara Mast, Paul and Erma Hempel, Harold and Eileen Hegerle, and uncle Gary Mast.
