Judy Tirrel, 77, of Lake Norden, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at Avantara- Lake Norden. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, March 14, 2022, at Preston Christian Church in rural Bruce. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 am. Geise Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Judy Denison, was born on December 22, 1944, in Hendricks, MN, the daughter of William and Frances (Smith) Denison. She attended grade school at a country house and graduated from White High School. She went on to work at Estelline Nursing and Care Center for a number of years until her retirement. She was married to Glenn Tirrel and they were blessed with four children, Scott, Chad, Kyle and Tammy. Judy raised and trained Quarter horses and provided daycare for her granddaughter Brittany.
Judy was hard working by nature had a passion for the outdoors, enjoyed fishing, pheasant hunting, loved caring for her horses and later in life, raising dogs. She loved going to church with her siblings.
She is survived by her four grandchildren, Brittany (Shawn) Lewno of Castlewood, SD, Chad Bird of Spearfish, SD, Holden Tesch of Blue Earth, MN and Taryn Ambali of Waukee, IA; 5 great grandchildren, Logan and Alaina Lewno, Lyrik, Cashtyn and Amyiah Ambali; son-in-law, Todd Altfillisch of Clark, SD two sisters, Barb (Paul) of Perham, MN and Cathy Ward of Odesa, TX; one brother, Phillip Denison of Lake Preston, SD and many nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents William and Frances Denison; three sons, Scott, Chad and Kyle; daughter, Tammy Altfillsich; great granddaughter, Zoey Ambali; her brothers, Bill, Bud, Larry and Joe and her sisters, Theresa and Agatha,
