Webb, Officiating Interment Hillcrest Cemetery Estelline, South Dakota Visitation One hour preceding services at the church on Tuesday Junice (Fjerestad) Blumeyer, daughter of Elling and Jennie (Orson) Fjerestad, was born August 1, 1903 at Estelline, South Dakota. She spent her early years in Estelline and graduated from Estelline High School in 1922. She continued her education for one year in Minneapolis, Minnesota and was then employed at Abbotts General Store in Estelline for nine years. She was united in marriage to John Blumeyer on April 8, 1937 in Watertown, South Dakota. They farmed in Hamlin County until Johns death on February 10, 1971. She then moved into Estelline and continued to make her home there. Junice entered the Estelline Nursing and Care Center on September 2, 1997 and died there on Thursday, November 13, 2003 at the age of 100 years, 3 months and 12 days. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Estelline and enjoyed sewing, music, playing the organ and doing crossword puzzles. Grateful for having shared her life are her great nieces and great nephews, Mary Lou French of Rapid City, SD, Vera Jean Johnson of Alliance, NE, James Fjerstad of Brookings, SD, Denise Fjerstad of Wentworth, SD, Diane Ust of Brookings, Leah Jane Jeffries of Rapid City, Michael Fjerstad of Sioux Falls and Richard Fjerstad of Madison, SD.. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three brothers, Clarence, Purlin and Elmer; and one sister, Bertha.
