Lillian Seppala Castlewood, South Dakota Funeral Service 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 11, 2003 American Lutheran Church Castlewood, South Dakota Rev. John Sandstrom, Officiating Interment Castlewood Cemetery Castlewood, South Dakota Visitation 4PM to 8PM Monday at Geise Funeral Chapel in Castlewood Lillian (Antonen) Seppala, daughter of Ole and Helena (Kemppainen) Antonen, was born August 14, 1913 at Lake Norden, South Dakota. She was baptized on November 2, 1913 at the Poinsett Evangelical Lutheran Church and received her education in rural school near Lake Norden. After her marriage to Elmer E. Seppala on July 10, 1937 in Lake Norden, they farmed near Castlewood. Lillian taught piano lessons for over forty years. Elmer died on December 19, 1961 in Sioux Falls, SD. She became a resident of the Beverly Healthcare in Lake Norden on November 29, 2000 and died there on Saturday, March 8, 2003 at the age of 89 years, 6 months and 24 days. She was a member of the American Lutheran Church where she served as organist for over 40 years, a member of the A.L.C.W. and was District President of the Cotau Conference. Lillian served on the board of the Bookmobile, the Watertown Library and the Castlewood Cemetery. She was a charter member of the Pleasant Valley Extension Club, was a member of the Senior Citizens and was the local correspondent for the Watertown Public Opinion. Grateful for having shared her life are two daughters, Dorothy Schooley and her husband Charles of Castlewood, Patricia Wild and her husband Mel of North Oak, MN; twin sons, Dr. Lynn Seppala and his wife Joan of Livermore, CA and Dean Seppala and his wife Carol of Mazatlan, Mexico; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters and five brothers. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be directed to the American Lutheran Church in Castlewood.
