Linda Kay Younse, 68, of Denton, TX, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at her home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, December 10, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Norden, SD. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 am. A Celebration of Life for Linda Younse will be at the home of Jeff Floyd and Kristin Younse Thursday December 8 th from 5:30pm – 8:00pm.  Anyone wishing to attend can contact Kristin at kristin@younse.org for farther details . Linda Kay Harrenga was born in the town of Watertown in Codington County, South Dakota on June 4, 1948 to Peter John Harrenga and Edna Olive (Olsen) Harrenga. She graduated from Lake Norden High School in Lake Norden, South Dakota in 1966, and then attended South Dakota State University where she received her bachelor's degree in elementary education with a minor in special education.

She married Danny Ray Younse on August 8, 1970 and moved to Denton, Texas where Dan was attending North Texas State University.  She taught in various schools in the area, most recently B. B. Owen Elementary in The Colony, Texas.  She taught second grade for a total of 34 years and saw teaching as a calling, not just a job.  She was loved and respected by teachers, parents and children alike, even earning the distinction of Teach of the Year while at B.B. Owen.

Linda's hobbies included reading and traveling.  She particularly enjoyed taking the family to the Caribbean.  She often said her idea of a white Christmas was a white sandy beach in the Caribbean.  She also enjoyed going on cruises.

Linda is survived by two daughters, Amy Wanda Bryan and Kristin Sara Younse; her husband of 46 years, Danny Ray Younse; and two granddaughters, Carmela Addison Younse, age 9, and Riley Alexandria Bryan, age 6.

She was preceded in death by her father Pete Harrenga; mother, Edna Harrenga and sister, Wanda Louise Harrenga Akland.
