Funeral Service 10:30 A.M., Saturday, April 2, 2011 United Church of Christ Estelline, South Dakota Pastor Dustin Bartlett, Officiating Interment Hillcrest Cemetery, Estelline, South Dakota Visitation 4PM to 7PM Friday at Geise Funeral Home in Estelline. Lloyd S. Foster, son of Benjamin George and Ida Mathilda (Wiken) Foster, was born October 26, 1918 on the family farm at rural Estelline, South Dakota. He grew up near Estelline and received his education here and graduated from Estelline High School in 1936. Lloyd moved to Omaha, Nebraska where he worked as a salesman for Watkins and was united in marriage to Geraldean "Jerry" Wendell on April 8, 1939 in Omaha. They lived in Omaha until moving to Estelline in March of 1942. They farmed northeast of Estelline until retiring. During his farming years Lloyd raised Registered Angus Cattle. Geraldean died on March 28, 1988 and Lloyd was united in marriage to Ann (Eggena) Eneboe on July 8, 1989. He wintered in Texas for the past 28 years. Lloyd died on Monday, March 28, 2011 at the Estelline Nursing and Care Center at the age of 92 years. He was a member of the United Church of Christ. Lloyd was also a pilot and enjoyed flying and hunting fox as well as spending time with his family and grandchildren. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Ann of Estelline; two sons, Craig Foster and his wife LuJean of Ft. Worth, TX, Lowell Foster and his wife Carol of Austin, MN; five grandchildren, Michael Foster of Ft. Dodge, IA, Ashley Brogden and her husband Shawn of Des Moines, IA, Meredith Ahrenholtz and her husband Zachary of Yountville, CA, Kristen Foster and her fiancé Luke Green of Duluth, MN, Kelly Foster and her special friend Garrett Erstad of Austin, MN; four step-children, Roma Nelson and her husband Gary of De Pere, WI, Carolyn Helkenn and her husband Gene of Clark, SD, Virginia Schmunk and her husband Lee of Spearfish, SD, Allen Eneboe and his wife Brenda of Phoenix, AZ; 13 step-grandchildren; seven step-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife Jerry; three children, Lloyd Wendell, Sheryl Joyce and Jay Lynn; his parents; six brothers, Maurice, George "Reynard", Howard, Lawrence, Charles "Ernie" and Wayne; and one sister Bernice Borstad. The family requests memorials be directed to the United Church of Christ in Estelline.
