Lois Ann Boughton, 79, of Castlewood, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2019, at Ava's Hospice House, in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Monday, January, 28, 2019 at American Lutheran Church, in Castlewood. Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 am. Geise Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Lois Ann Neevel was born on August 28, 1939, in Sanborn, ND, the daughter of Maynard and Bertha (Brockaert) Neevel. She attended grade school at Greenland, ND and attended high school in Litchville, ND and Montpelier, ND. Following graduation, she worked at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company and on April 19, 1958, she was united in marriage to Roy Boughton. The couple lived in Ypsilanti, ND and Lois stayed home to raise the couple's five children. The family lived in various communities before settling in Castlewood in 1977. When the children were older, she went on to work various jobs, most recently working at Castlewood Assisting Living.

Lois enjoyed fishing, crafting, word searches, puzzles and gardening. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. She was a member of American Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband Roy Boughton, of Castlewood, SD, four children, Mahlon (Ronda) Boughton, of Watertown, SD, Debra (Edward) Aderhold, of Castlewood, SD, Wayne (Billie) Boughton, of Aurora, CO and Cheryl (Michael) Collins, of Hayti, SD; 17 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, two brothers, Don (Sharon) Neevel, of Grand Forks, ND and Ray (Yvonne) Neevel, of West Fargo, ND.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents, son, Eugene Boughton and daughter-in-law Lori Boughton.
