Mass of Christian Burial for Lorraine C. Caron will be held at 10:30am, Friday, July 29, 2011, at St. Francis deSales Catholic Church in Estelline, with visitation from 5pm until 7pm, on Thursday with a Scripture Service and Rosary at 7pm also at the church. Lorraine C. Thissen was born on May 16, 1936, in Willmar, MN, the daughter of Edward J. and Myrtle (Brink) Thissen. She grew up on a farm near Manannah, MN. She graduated from Litchfield High School in 1954. She continued her education at St. Cloud State College in St. Cloud, MN. Lorraine was united in marriage to Charles V. Caron on August 27, 1955 at the Churcu of Our Lady in Manannah. They began their married life in Marshall, MN and after three years moved to Estelline, SD, where she touched many lives as a homemaker, babysitter, Avon Representative, librarian and also working as a housekeeper at the Estelline Nursing and Care Center. Lorraine died on Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at the Estelline Nursing and Care Center at the age of 75. She enjoyed coffee with her friends, golfing, shopping, traveling and Bridge Club. There was always an abundance of casseroles and desserts for family gatherings. Lorraine will always be remembered for her radiant smile acknowledging one's presence upon visiting her at the Nursing Home. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband Charles Caron of Estelline, SD; children, Cynthia (Jerald) Jungers of Milbank, SD, Steven (Kathleen) Caron of Aberdeen, SD, Thomas (Lori) Caron of Marshall, MN, Catherine (Allan) Christianson of Brandon, SD; 12 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; her brothers Gerald (Kathleen) Thissen of Hutchinson, MN, Edward (Elaine) Thissen of Maple Grove, MN, Fred (Phyllis) Thissen of Robbinsdale, MN; sister-in-law Betty Thissen of St. Paul, MN; and brother-in-law Albert Scheeler of Golden Valley, MN. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Mary Ann and Marcella, one brother Bob, grandson Cody Charles Christianson, sister-in-law Betty Lou and brother-in-law Paul.
