Mabel M. Koisti Lake Norden, South Dakota Funeral Service 10:30 A.M., Saturday, March 6, 2004 Trinity Lutheran Church Lake Norden, South Dakota Rev. Donald Schumacher, Officiating Interment Apostolic Lutheran Cemetery Lake Norden, South Dakota Visitation 4PM to 8PM Friday at Geise Funeral Chapel in Lake Norden. Mabel M. (Moilan) Koisti, daughter of Henry and Sophia (Keranen) Moilan, was born June 8, 1910 at Hansboro, North Dakota. She moved with her family to Hamlin County, South Dakota at the age of five years and attended school in Hamlin County. She helped feed threshing crews with her brothers and sisters for many years. Mabel continued her education at Watertown Business College. She was united in marriage to Fred H. Koisti on July 24, 1930 in Clark, South Dakota and they made Lake Norden their home. Fred died on May 10, 1977. Mabel died on Monday, March 1, 2004 at her residence in Lake Norden at the age of 93 years, 8 months and 23 days. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Norden and enjoyed serving with her lady friends in the church circle. In her later years she enjoyed the media ministry in her home. She loved gardening and still had a beautiful flower garden at age 93. She also enjoyed feeding and watching birds in her yard and was a great seamstress in her younger years. Grateful for having shared her life are one daughter, Marie Nessan of Sioux Falls; one son, Roger Koisti and his wife Sharon of Lake Norden; 15 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; two sisters, Vivian Miner of Watertown, SD and Ferne Osberg and her husband Keith of Huron, SD; one brother, Marvin Moilan and his wife Wanda of Hot Springs, SD; one brother-in-law, Larry Heikkila of Hayti, SD; two sisters-in-law, Eunice Moilan of Bryant, SD and Virginia Sparling of Spokane, WA; and a host of other relatives and friends. Mabel was preceded in death by her husband, one son Larry, one daughter Betty, her parents, five brothers and seven sisters.
